More Evo X Dyno Charts - Stock X + Tune
The tuning wizards at Vishnu strike again, this time wringing out 310hp at the wheels on 91 octane, and over 320hp on a blend of 91 pump gas and race gas. Keep in mind - this is all just with some ecu tuning - everything else is bone stock. For reference, the Evo IX required a full turboback exhaust in addition to tuning to reach these numbers.
What a 1700rwhp Dyno Run Looks Like
The boys down under have whipped up one unholy son of a motherless gto. This Holden packs what appears to be a twin turbo v8. From the size of those turbos, thats a setup that will need some serious displacement to spool. Note the concerned look of the onlookers when the GTO looks ready to rip the straps holding it to the dyno.
Evo X 4B1 Engine Disassembled, Sports Major Cajones

The folks at Turbotrix have taken it upon themselves to tear down a brand spanking new Evo X motor in the name of science. A short list of improvements include:
- improved connecting rod design (note the bolt vs the bolt+nut evo 9 design)
- 650cc injectors (a full 100cc's greater than those on the Evo 9)
- better lubrication
It's evident that the 4B1 was designed to handle some serious power.
The Chrysler world engine has received some criticism - mostly unfounded now it seems. As the aftermarket continues to unlock its secrets, look forward to the X leaving the previous Evos in the proverbial dust.

It's pretty impressive seeing a 15 year old inline 6 pull BUSLENGTHS on an italian supercar... Those crazy europeans.

Treatise on Nissan R35 GTR Powerplant

For those who want a good overview on the nuts and bolts of the new GTR powerplant, head on over to the GTRForums. A few highlights about the new VR38DETT:
- U-LEV
- Thermostatically Controlled Oil Cooler
- Twin IHI turbines integrated into exhaust manifolds
- Handmade engines and transmissions.
Pretty impressive indeed - although the nice $60,000 markup most dealers are putting on this car is sure to be a damper.
Just Wrong: S15 front end on Ford Mustang

TampaRacing forums user Shinmei2006 spots a previous generation 'Stang sporting S15 projectors and front end.
Meh. I guess if you're into that sort of thing.

White Time Attack Volk CE28 and Wedsport Dry Carbon Wheels

For those collectors of rare and fashionable wheels, the following two were unveiled at the 2008 Tokyo Auto Salon:
The new series white Volk CE28 is part of their new line of Time Attack wheels. Personally, I think the black Time Attack series looked a lot better.
Also for those who wipe their bottoms with Benjamins, Wedsport has released a new 10 spoke DRY CARBON rim that weighs in at 2.76lbs in 18x9.5 format. Of course, being in Japan that could be 2.76kg - but still!
